The Story of Shaddow Domain: Episode 1 – So This is Happening!

You asked, so here we go. The following series of segments was posted to Facebook 3 years ago, but admit it, you don't remember. So, I'm going to edit this saga a bit, and also add some new tidbits, such as our most recent move, our new website and the fact that we even HAVE a blog. I'm going to do something crazy and do this without AI, so there may be some warts and errors, but hey, that's how you know it's me! If you have memories about any of the entries in this series of mostly fortunate events, share them in the comments. After all, a lot of you were there!

The front of our new location, that looks strangely like the front of our first location, but better!

The Story of Shaddow Domain: Episode 1 – So This is Happening!

As this is our twentieth (now 23rd!) year in existence, it’s been suggested that I recount the story of how this store came about. Twenty years (or 23) doesn’t seem like a long time until one tries to recall all that’s happened within that time, but I suppose that perception depends on which end of the twenty years you’re currently inhabiting.

When this all started, I was thirty-eight years old with two children, nine and thirteen (23 years later, two of their children have jobs, have worked with me, and one just graduated high school). Twenty years into the future might as well have been a hundred (yea, I feel a hundred).

If this is a story you may find interesting, I will be posting one addition per week (can't guarantee that one, but 3 years ago I was hopelessly optimistic). I’m no writer, but I’ll give this a shot and the posts will be numbered, not only for your benefit but mine. The order may not make sense, but neither does real life, so I think it will be ok.

Well, that was the first installment. It wasn't much, but I had forced myself to commit to the project so I could get it going, and that's kind of what I'm doing right now. I had the time, so I kinda jumped in the pool. Be patient, I assuredly won't drown, but I may have to tread water a bit.

See you soon!
